Bobby Bennett | Order of the Golden Heart 1993

Bobby Bennett, a distinguished alumnus of Sigma Phi Epsilon’s North Carolina Iota chapter at Barton College, was honored with the Order of the Golden Heart in 1993. This accolade represents the fraternity’s highest recognition, bestowed upon alumni who have demonstrated exceptional and selfless service to SigEp over their lifetimes.

Brother Bennett’s unwavering commitment to the fraternity has left an indelible mark on the NC Iota chapter. Serving as chapter counselor, he provided steadfast guidance and mentorship, embodying the fraternity’s cardinal principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. His leadership was instrumental during pivotal moments in the chapter’s history, including the transition to the current chapter house at 606 Nash Street NE in Wilson, North Carolina. Under his counsel, the chapter not only navigated challenges but also thrived, reinforcing its presence and legacy on campus.

The Order of the Golden Heart, established in 1959, is awarded to alumni who have rendered at least 30 years of dedicated service to Sigma Phi Epsilon. Recipients are recognized at the Grand Chapter Conclave, where they are presented with a medallion and scroll, symbolizing their lifelong commitment to the fraternity’s ideals.
